The Concept

CogniCrafters Learning Center provides positive cognitive development and critical thinking skills by housing immersive art and science activities and exhibits for six, seven and eight year olds. This is a screen free space that has a design focus on furniture that promotes social interaction between the end users.

My research revolved around art and science topics at the elementary level, engaging brain development activities for youth, and social interaction between between 6 through 8 year olds. I also researched the impacts of what a constant, daily use of electronic screen time can have on a developing brain.

From the findings in my research, I was drawn to develop a concept that would give young children the opportunity to reconnect with their world, both physically and emotionally. Through collaborations with renowned and emerging artists, CogniCrafters would host a quarterly rotation of exhibits with an underlying theme in cognitive development, art and science that instills a lasting feeling of awe in the end user.

A youth education concept merging immersive art and science exhibits with underlying themes that promote positive cognitive development and critical thinking skills.
